Alcúdia is a municipality and township of the Spanish autonomous community of the Balearic Islands, and a main tourist centre on the island of Majorca. Apart from the nearby sandy beaches the main tourist attraction is the Hidropark, as well as being home to Hotetur Bellevue complex, the largest holiday resort in Europe. Every Sunday and Tuesday there is a market in the old town of Alcudia. The beach at Alcúdia is 6 miles (9.7 km) long and stretches as far as C'an Picafort. Alcúdia joins on to Playa de Muro which is home to S'Albufera; a protected nature reserve that is very popular with bird-spotters. Alcudia has some fine beaches ranging from the very popular Port d'Alcidia beach which is great for children to unspoilt & isolated beaches such as Coll Baix beach.

The beach at Port d'Alcudia is 2000m long and 50m wide and consists of white sand. This is a very good beach for children because the water is clear and shallow and there are many areas shaded by palm trees. Services: Restaurants, lifeguards, open air bars, sports facilities, sun beds, umbrellas and pedal boats for hire. Swimming Conditions: Calm water.

 

 

 


Cala Poncet beach

Cala Poncet

The beach at Cala Poncet is narrow and sandy with a few rocks and is 80m long & 6m wide. The water is very shallow and even 100m from shore, the depth of the water is only 3.5 metres. This beach is located in the residential area of Alcanada just before the Alcanada beach and is surrounded by hotels and a residential area. Services: Restaurants, bars, hotels.

This beach is 200m long and 15m wide and is covered in small pebbles. It is a very scenic setting with the beach being surrounded by palm trees. Close by is the Alcanada residential area. Only 140m away from the beach is Alcanada Island which has a lighthouse. Because the water is only 1.5m deep, it is easy to wade to the island or swim. To get to the beach, follow the Avinguda Reina Sofia in Port d'Alcudia which will lead you to road of Camí des Far d´Alcanada. Follow this road to the end, passing the residential areas of Torre Major and Alcanada, and you will come to an ample parking area next to the beach. Swimming Conditions: Calm water.


Es Faralló beach

Es Faralló beach

If you enjoy snorkelling, then Es Faralló Beach is ideal. It is an unspoilt cove 70m long and 5m wide surrounded by a pine grove and thick vegetation. Simply walk 500m north along the coast from the beach of Alcanada on a track between palm trees to get to it. There are large pebbles and rocks on the seabed. Close by is the stunning natural cave of Sa Bassa Blanca.

 

 


Coll Baix beach

Coll Baix beach

A beautiful and unspoilt isolated beach which is 250m long and 75m wide surrounded by high mountain walls. The beach itself consists of sand and shingle. To get to Coll Baix beach leave Alcudia and head towards Cap des Pinar. Before you get to the Bonaire Point you have to take the Camí de Sa Muntanya at a kind of roundabout. After about 1 km the road becomes an untarmacked track, at which point there is a hut with tables, chairs and drinking water. Going on from the hut, the path towards the beach becomes more difficult, as you have to walk downhill for 5 minutes to get to the beach. Swimming Conditions: Moderate swell. This beach is used by nudists / naturists.

 


S'lllot beach

S´lllot

Another unspoilt beach, this time with small pebbles and a picnic area under some pine trees. The beach is 130 m long and 10 m wide. Ideal for canoeing, snorkelling and scuba diving. Take the road towards Cap des Pinar, drive through the Bonaire residential area and you will see the beach before you get to La Victoria. It's easy enough to spot because there is a small island just off the beach. Services: a small restaurant open from March to October and a picnic area. Swimming Conditions: Moderate swell.

 

 


Sant Pere beach

Located below the residential area of Mal Pas & close to the Bonaire Port, you will find the white sandy beach of Sant Pere. This beach is 110 m long and 150 m wide. From Alcudia at the end of the Avinguda dels Princeps d´Espanya there is a branch road heading towards Mal Pas, and 2.5 km along this there is a roundabout, from where Mal Pas is signposted. Sant Pere beach has excellent views out over Formentor and the bay of Pollensa. Services: an open-air bar that serves some dishes; sun loungers and parasols for hire. Swimming Conditions: Moderate swell.

 


Sant Joan beach

Sant Joan beach

Very popular with residents from Mal Pas and Bonaire, this 100 m long & 25 m wide sandy beach provides a very scenic location to top up your sun tan. To get here from Alcudia, at the end of the Avinguda dels Princeps d´Espanya there is a branch road heading towards Mal Pas, and 2.5 km along this there is a roundabout, where you have to take the turning on the left. A little bit further on there is a parking area, with some steps that lead to the beach. Services: an open-air bar; sun loungers and parasols for hire. Swimming Conditions: Moderate swell.

 


Es Morer Vermell

Es Morer Vermell

This is a very quiet beach which is 210 m long & 10 m wide and located in the Es Morer Vermell residential area of Alcudia. The beach has a rocky seabed and part of the beach at the right-hand side is unspoilt and has a pine grove. Es Morer Vermall is ideal for snorkelling because it is very shallow and even 200 m from shore, the water is only 2 m deep. Sun beds and parasols are only for hotel guests. Swimming Conditions: Calm water.

 

 


Can Cap de Bou Beach

Can Cap de Bou Beach

A narrow beach which is 600 m long and with very shallow waters. When the north wind blows in, this beach is very popular with windsurfers. The road from Alcudia heading towards Port de Pollença will take you to this beach, which is in a fairly unspoilt area and which doesn´t get crowded. Services: sun loungers and parasols for hire. Swimming Conditions: Moderate swell.
