The secluded resort of Playa de Muro is almost midway between the resorts of Alcudia and C'an Picafort on the northern coast of Mallorca. Playa de Muro, which if only to confuse things is also written as Platja de Muro, is a relatively new resort development that lies at the centre of the magnificent Bay of Alcudia. The warm shallow waters of Alcudia Bay make Playa de Muro very popular with families with young children, and many of the hotels here have the added benefit of a direct beach front access. The beach is without doubt a major attraction to this resort, with almost 8km of fine, clean sand, offering visitors a wide variety of water sport and other facilities to suit all tastes and abilities.

This beach occupies 5.5 km of Muro´s coastline. It is made up of dunes with low vegetation and pines and forms part of the 8.5km-long beach which runs along the Bay of Alcúdia, starting at Can Picafort and ending at Port d´Alcúdia, with the wetlands of Albufera Gran de Mallorca behind. Some sections are developed - with hotels, apartments and houses - creating a low-rise tourist zone that has all the necessary services to enjoy holidays with family or friends. To reach the beach, take the road C-712 that joins Port d´Alcúdia with Artà, and you´ll come to it before Can Picafort. A large section of the beach is completely unspoilt, with a pine-shaded zone between the dunes with benches and tables for eating. The beach has an abundance of fine white sand. Services: at the developed areas there are bars and restaurants, as well as sun loungers and parasols for rent.
