Palma Shopping

Shopping in Palma | Palma Shops.

Fancy a bit of retail therapy? There's a wide choice of places to shop in Palma ranging from your large department stores to the numerous backstreet shops offering a range of local and international products.

Probably the best place to start if you have the desire to spend some cash is to go from the Cathedral and travel up the Passeig d'es Born which is the main avenue. Here you will find large and small stores and shops. Then head onto Las Ramblas which is probably the best place to go if you want to pick up a bunch of fresh flowers. Circling the main part of the city you will find numerous side streets known as the Avenidas and here you will find plenty of small boutique style shops to explore.

One of the most popular and oldest markets in Mallorca is Mercat de l'Olivar which is located in the centre of Palma and here you can find over 100 stalls offering just about anything you could possibly need. It also has a free underground car park and a play area to keep the kids happy.

If you feel like mixing shopping with a little sightseeing then Carrer Sant Miquel is a good place to shop as here you will find a variety of shops in addition to the churches of Sant Miquel, Santa Margalida and Sant Antoniet. This street is also home to the Joan March Foundation.

Those seeking clothes shops, shoe shops, accessories, boutiques and beauty and perfume shops (that'll be the ladies then!) will enjoy Plaza Major and Carrer Sindicat where you will also find some of Palma's oldest shops selling a range of decorative items, ornaments and spices.

Popular with tourists is Passeig per l'Artesania which is one of the oldest areas in Palma. Here you will find genuine Mallorcan products such as pearls, glass and other art & craft type items.

If you are looking for the big designer brands then just head for Avenida Jaume III.
